Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu is one of the main “ryu” or “schools” of Iaido. It has a continuous history of more than 450 years, and represents one of the largest branches of Iaido in Japan and the world today. Unlike some other ryu, Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu does not emphasize tameshigiri, or test cutting (of bamboo or rolled mats or other materials).
